Concept Identification involves identifying and scoping your project concept, and working towards endorsement from your organisation, partner agencies, and external stakeholders. The goal of this part of the APT is to assist you to undertake a problem analysis, set clear objectives, and get support for your project before proceeding to full project proposal development.

Purpose & Goal:

Once you have your project idea identified, it’s time to solidify your approach. A project proposal is a request for buy-in and support to start a project from project partners, donors, and stakeholders.

The content of a project proposal is unique to context, however there are a number of key components which should be addressed to ensure your proposal is robust and justifiable. This includes outlining context and rationale for the project, identifying stakeholders, developing a budget, building your key objectives and activities, and demonstrative social and environmental safeguards.

This stage of the APT will help you to develop a basic project proposal to provide reasons why your project should be supported and implemented. This basic proposal illustrates the goals, considerations and scope of your project and can be used as a foundation for preliminary discussions with project partners, donors and stakeholders
